The Session 8 Band wows a packed house at Mama Stone’s
Tuesday night, 23 Feb '10, at Mama Stone’s was the place to be, when The Session 8 Band gave a brilliant performance to a packed audience, at the band’s first live show.
The 8 piece line-up, which includes top musicians from the jazz world, performed original material written by Devon based songwriter Les Veale, which all feature on the band’s two recently released albums, Girl In Blue and Mood Swings.
Les and the band were overwhelmed by the tremendous response of the crowd, with songs such as She walks down the street and Watch your language going down a storm. The finale For the times you won’t be there, sung as a duet by Tim and Maggie, left the Mama Stone’s audience clapping and cheering for more and there was a real buzz in the air as the band left the stage.
As they lined up for photographs, with much hand shaking and congratulating all round, the question on everyone’s lips was “When’s the next gig?”
Forthcoming Session 8 Band performances will be announced shortly.
